Portillo   In 2007 celebrates its 58th year as Chile's finest ski resort!   The Portillo Ski Area in Chile is the most famous and oldest center in South America, renown for its extraordinary beauty and its world-class skiing and snowboarding. In a world quickly going generic, Portillo proudly remains unique, private and grand. There are no towns, shopping areas, high-priced tickets or major ego to be found here, just casual elegance and a warm social atmosphere that encourages every visitor to feel like part of the family.

 
 

In the World of skiing, has a golden history. The celebrated skier Jean-Claude Killy won his first gold medals here, in 1966. Speed skiers in Portillo's Kilometro Lanzado competitions were the first to exceed 200kph. Four former gold medallists have led Portillo's Ski School in the past, and hosts National Ski Teams every year (last year the Austrian and U.S. Olympic teams trained here).

Antillanca ski center is located 80 kilometers (49,7 miles) from Osorno, between Rupanco and Puyehue lakes.

Antillanca counts with very good tracks and excellent ski during the winter season (June to October).

This winter center is characterized to have the best conditions ski outside tracks and emphasizes by its slopes and cornices.

The maintance and care of the status of the tracks are a commitment for our ski center; this is why Antillanca has the best professionals, worried specially in offering the best security and have ski slopes in excellent state.

Cerro Mirador   Located 8 km (5 mi) to the west of Punta Arenas city, inside Magallanes National Reserve, in the Fenton hill, known as Mirador hill. The ski season is from June to September.

This place shows you one of the few ski slopes looking to the sea. This sport and recreational center has its higher point at 600 mts. (1,970 ft) and it is also an excellent site-seeing spot for the Magallanes strait and Tierra del Fuego.

For coming to its base is necessary to take 30 minutes approximately by vehicle, from Muñoz Gomero square, the main square in Punta Arenas. There are local buses that do this service on weekends.

You can choose from 11 ski slopes to slide; there are slopes for all kind of levels and in its mayor part are of medium difficulty.

It has a double chair lift with 1,500 mts (4,900 ft) and a ski lift. The refuge offers ski rental, sledges, work shop, wardrobe and lockers, ski school with specialized instructors and patrol for your security. For those who do not practice this sport, we recommend to visit Mirador hill and enjoy the wonderful view of the Magallanes strait, Tierra del Fuego and the southest city of the continent.

La Parva is located in a very beautiful area, at 38 kms (23.6 mi) from Santiago. La Parva has a beautiful view to the valley of Santiago and it is the winter center with major population, due to the great variety of refuges and private apartments, which are rented during the ski season. The snowboard practice and the heliski are implemented for those who enjoy these activities.

La Parva possesses a ski area of 38 kms distributed in 30 slopes, which can be ampler (with a special ticket) interconnected with Valle Nevado Ski Center. The largest slope is 4 kms (2.5 mi) long. A mechanized team supports and repairs the slopes. In La Parva there are 14 ski lifts, which cover 9,673 mts (31,407 ft) and include 2 quadruple-chair lifts, one triple-chair lift, one double-chair lift and 10 ski lifts.

Pucón is located in the South of Chile. It offers for the second season, the hemisphere's first Super Half-Pipe.
